Chéad Remix featuring Wilfred van Setten

07:07 PM

Chéad My younger brother Wilfred has been playing the trumpet and cornet (a smaller trumpet) for years as part of several marching bands. So naturally, I asked him come and record the trumpet track of my first song Chéad. We finally managed to do so last Thursday. I just finished remixing the song with his trumpet parts in and some other adjustments. Please let me know what you think of this remix by posting a comment below.

This Day

10:51 AM

Today is the day that the biggest sports event of the world starts, the 2012 Olympic Games. I am normally not a huge sports fan, but I am looking forward to watching this event. So, I thought it might be appropriate to release a song I wrote called “This Day” today. It is namely a song that has a bigger sound (more symphonic) than most of my songs so far. I hope you like it.

The Lost Tear

10:37 AM

The Lost Tear I wrote this song a couple of weeks ago when I was not feeling very well. My health has given me problems for a long time and at that time everything played up at the same time. I am doing a bit better now, and in the end it helped me write this song called “The Lost Tear”. The title refers to how beautiful music can sometimes cause one single tear to roll down from my eye.

The River Flows Demo

02:01 PM

When writing this song, I wanted to create a nice slow song. I feel that I succeeded. The song has a really nice “flow” in my opinion (hence the title). It only took me a while to determine which instrument to use as the main instrument in the second part of the song. After several experiments, I decided to go with the English Horn. That instrument already has a nice lazy sound. I hope you like the song. Let me know via a comment to this post.

Red Moon Demo

06:29 PM

I wrote this song several weeks ago. However, every time I listened to it, I had the feeling that something was not quite right. In the end, the solution was extremely simple, but as is often the case, simple solutions are hard to find. I just changed the tempo and removed one note and now it is the way I want it to be. The title doesn’t have a specific meaning this time, it is just the first thing that I thought of for this song. I’d love to hear what you think of it.

Be Yourself Demo

11:50 AM

Be Yourself Nowadays, so much is expected of people that it’s too easy to loose yourself by shaping oneself to what others want or expect. And it is so important to remain true to oneself. By being yourself, you experience less stress and you feel much better. But it isn’t always easy. I wrote this song to be reminded of the importance of being yourself.
