Chéad Remix featuring Wilfred van Setten

Chéad My younger brother Wilfred has been playing the trumpet and cornet (a smaller trumpet) for years as part of several marching bands. So naturally, I asked him come and record the trumpet track of my first song Chéad. We finally managed to do so last Thursday. I just finished remixing the song with his trumpet parts in and some other adjustments. Please let me know what you think of this remix by posting a comment below.

Summer Sun Demo

Today is the official start of the summer and the longest day of the year. But here in the Netherlands, it doesn’t look like summer at all. It’s very cloudy and rain is to be expected. And we already had a spring that looked more like an autumn. Hopefully, my new demo will give you the feeling of a bit of Summer Sun and lets hope that we do get to see a lot of the real sun this summer. In this song, I also experimented for the first time with a harmony in the melody. I hope you like it.

Chéad Demo

Chéad is the very first song for which I explicitly sat down in order to write a song. I didn’t have any melody in my head beforehand. Hence the title of this song. Chéad is Irish for ‘First’. Furthermore, I also intent to use, for the very first time, a part recorded by another musician in the final version of this song: my younger brother Wilfred is an excellent cornet player (a smaller trumpet) and he will play the trumpet part of this song.
